Press Release: Solo Bread Builds on National Acclaim with New Bebington Road Shop Opening
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BIRKENHEAD, UK - Solo Bread, recently named one of Britain’s Best Bakeries for 2026, will open a new retail shop at 220 Bebington Road at 10:00am on Friday, 1 May, marking its first dedicated customer-facing location on the Wirral.
“We started as a wholesale operation, and we’ve loved creating and growing relationships with cafes, restaurants, and shops who care about quality food and ingredients,” said owner Harry Doherty. “Then, we started selling at farmer’s markets here on the Wirral, and the feedback directly from customers has been incredible. They love knowing that what they’re buying isn’t full of additives and fillers. And of course, they love the taste!”
“Opening a shop means we can serve that same bread directly to the community that has supported us from the start.”
Customers can expect a range of naturally fermented sourdough loaves, buns, seasonal pastries, and coffee, all made with the same focus on organic grain, slow fermentation, and carefully sourced ingredients that earned Solo Bread its national recognition.
The shop will initially open on Fridays and Saturdays, with plans to expand as the business continues to grow. “We want to start slow to make sure we’re giving the best products and service to our customers,” Harry said. “From there, we’ll grow based on what the community wants.”
